The Bessemer City Police Department strives to improve the quality of life of those we serve. It is our primary goal to maintain a secure environment with equal protection under the law for all of our citizens. By developing a partnership with the community, we will provide dedicated service for all persons living, working, and visiting Bessemer City.

Ultimately it is the goal of the Code Enforcement Department to provide the following benefits to the community:
- Protect the public health, safety and general welfare
- Help reduce factors contributing to certain types of crime
- Preserve and/or raise property values
- Improve the community’s appearance and image
- Demolition of substandard housing
The Bessemer City Police Department meets the first Thursday of every month at the Kiser Senior Center to discuss community watch activities. The meetings began at 6:30PM. The meetings will be held at the Kiser Senior Center until further notice while the Bessemer City Community Center undergoes renovations.
