Central School
Redevelopment Project
Near Completion
The Central School Redevelopment Project is nearing completion. Currently 95% of the main school has been completed and the 8 units in book building are being framed. The anticipated completion date is early October. |

Monument Dedicated to John and Sarah Kiser
On February 21, 2008 a ceremony was held to dedicate a stone monument to John and Sarah Kiser. The monument was a project by the Bessemer City Image Committee and the plaque honors the Kiser’s contributions to the Image Committee. The ceremony was attended by John and Sarah, along with their family and friends. A proclamation was read by Mayor Bob Hovis. The monument is located under the “Big Tree” in Downtown Bessemer City.

WATER RESTRICTIONS RAISED TO STAGE 2
On Monday, June 9, 2008, the City Manager of Bessemer City issued a Declaration of Water Shortage for the City of Bessemer City. Because of the recent high temperatures and lack of significant rain, City Manager, Allan Farris, has initiated Stage 2 Water Shortage Guidelines.
