Annual Down Home Festival: A Bessemer City Tradition
Join us for Gaston County’s most popular spring festival! Each year in May the annual Down Home Festival offers visitors a chance to enjoy two days of Festival Fun. The 27th annual festival was held on Friday, May 8th and Saturday, May 9th, 2015.
The Annual Bessemer City Christmas Parade and Christmas in the City
The Annual Bessemer City Christmas Parade takes place in December and features floats, food, fun and Santa & Mrs. Claus.
The event includes local school groups and churches performing seasonal Christmas music, a “Hey!” ride, a live nativity scene, the Little Blue Choo Choo, and of course, Santa Claus. Santa leads the children in a “Jingle Bell” Parade, ringing bells and singing carols.
