The Human Capital Officer for the City of Bessemer City performs many tasks that assist guiding and managing the operation of local government policy and law. The Human Capital Officer also strives to be a resource for City staff and provided resources for employee excellence.
- Administers employee benefits programs;
- Consults with department staff and management on hiring, training, wellness, training needs, disciplinary actions, grievances, performance evaluation, compensation, personnel policies, and related matters;
- Performs research, initiates changes, orients new employees, coordinates employee communication programs
- Insures compliance with laws, court cases, and regulations
