Join us Friday, June 12, 2026 for an all star line up! This year’s festival will feature live music and Drummers 4 Lyfe!
- 6:15 PM: Opening – Welcome & Proclamation (Mayor Becky S. Smith)
- 6:20 PM: Negro National Anthem/Lift Every Voice
- 6:30 PM: Entertainment – TBA
- 7:00 PM: Drummers 4 Lyfe (Interactive)
- 8:00 PM: Entertainment- TBA
What is Juneteenth?
Have you heard of Juneteenth? If not don’t fret, just keep reading! Juneteenth was a day of emancipation/freedom for thousands living in bondage in Galveston, Texas in 1865. Juneteenth is celebrated on June 19th. Get it? June + Nineteenth = Juneteenth. Creative, huh? Specifically, this holiday marks the anniversary of when Texas learned that President Lincoln had declared slavery illegal. The City of Bessemer City will host our 7th Annual Juneteenth Festival in Centennial Park on Friday, June 12th, 2026 from 6:00 – 10:00 PM.
