PHONE SCAM ALERT
There have been recent reports of phone scams where scammers use software to clone phone numbers and impersonate police officers to demand money, often threatening arrest for fake issues like warrants or unpaid tickets. The Bessemer City Police Department or any other Law Enforcement agencies will never demand payment through gift cards, cryptocurrency, or payment apps to avoid arrest. If you receive a suspicious call, hang up immediately, do not give out any personal information, and call The Bessemer City Police Department at 704-629-2235 or your local police department using a number you find independently, not one the caller provides.
