Public Notice: Blasting Operations at Project GT Site — Southridge Parkway
Bessemer City, NC — The City of Bessemer City is notifying residents and the public that controlled blasting will take place this week (week of July 27th) at the Project GT construction site along Southridge Parkway. This work is part of ongoing construction activity at the site. Blasting is a standard construction method used to break up rock and soil that cannot be removed by other means.
Loud noise and possible ground vibration at the time of each blast
Blasting to occur during daytime hours this week
Brief, temporary disruptions only — no prolonged closures expected
Safety measures:
All blasting will be conducted by permitted licensed and qualified contractors in accordance with state and local safety regulations
The blast area will be secured and monitored before, during, and after each detonation
Portions of Southridge Parkway will be closed temporarily while blasting takes place
The City appreciates the public’s understanding and cooperation during this temporary construction activity. This is a short-term measure necessary to advance the project, and normal conditions will resume once blasting operations are complete.
