Bessemer City is excited to introduce its new Strategic Plan, a community roadmap designed to guide the City’s vision, goals, and priorities for the future. The plan focuses on what matters most to our residents: thoughtful growth, safe neighborhoods, reliable infrastructure, and a strong quality of life. With clear goals in place, the City can better align resources and decisions to serve the needs of our community and track progress along the way.
At its heart, this plan is about people. It reflects our brand of Heartfelt Living, a promise to build a City where neighbors know one another, families feel supported, and everyone has a true sense of belonging. Every goal was crafted to strengthen the care, connection, and opportunity that define Bessemer City, ensuring we continue to grow while holding onto the warmth that makes our community special.
The Strategic Plan will be part of City Council’s annual Planning Retreat where strategies and tactics are reviewed, new initiatives are adopted, and goals are evaluated. This is a living document focused on moving the community forward while preserving what makes Bessemer City special.

This plan was unanimously adopted by City Council and the development of the plan was coordinated by Centralina Regional Council.
