Delayed Opening for Bessemer City Facilities & Offices – Tuesday, January 27, 2026
Bessemer City facilities and administrative offices will operate on a delayed opening schedule, opening to the public at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, due to the potential for icy road conditions during the morning hours.
Overnight temperatures are expected to drop to near or below freezing, which may result in hazardous travel conditions, including the development of black ice on roadways, bridges, and overpasses. City officials urge residents, employees, and visitors to use extreme caution when traveling, allow extra time to reach destinations, and avoid unnecessary travel during the early morning hours if possible.
