The Bessemer City Council met in special session on May 28, 2013 at 8:00 am in the Council Chambers of City Hall. Proper notice was given. Members Present Mayor Becky Smith; Council Members: Howard Jones, Donnie Griffin, Alfred Carpenter, Dan Boling, Joe Will and Kay McCathen were present. City Manager, James Inman, was also in attendance. Senior Lunch & ActivitiesThe Gaston Adult Nutrition Program invites anyone who is 60 years old or older and a Gaston County resident to join the Bessemer City Group Meal site for lunch. A nutritious lunchtime meal and daily activities that are fun and informational are offered everyday Monday – Friday beginning at 10:45 AM at the Bessemer City Community Building, 220 N. 14th Street, Bessemer City.
